What’s in the harvest boxes?

With each harvest box you’ll get a cornucopia of delicious and ultra-fresh produce. Each harvest box has 8-12 different items which vary weekly and seasonally. You can always expect some basics in your harvest boxes, such as a selection of greens, aromatics such as onions, root vegetables as well as whatever exciting crops are ripe and ready to be enjoyed.

What can I expect from each season?

While this is not a comprehensive list, here are some of things you will see throughout the seasons.

Spring Harvest:

Rhubarb, radishes, spinach, butter lettuce, kale, green onions, potatoes, peppers, fennel, mint, garlic chives

Summer Harvest:

Romaine lettuce, cherries, cucumbers, broccoli, tomatoes, raspberries, beets, arugula, peppers, garlic, leeks, basil

Green beans, corn, beets, green onion, salad mix, cilantro, parsley, strawberries, zucchini, onions, potatoes, cabbage

Fall & Winter Harvest

apples, cauliflower, winter squash, cabbage, celery, carrots, rosemary, onions, parsnips, ginger, garlic

Other Delights:

melons, eggplant, tomatillos, pears, ginger, turmeric, kohlrabi, brussels sprouts, hot peppers, plums, green beans, limes, lemons, fava beans, peas, sprouts, bok choy, napa cabbage, swiss chard, and more!

Where does the food come from?

Produce comes directly from the Local Harvest farm where each item is lovingly grown and harvested by hand. Sometimes the harvest boxes include produce from other excellent local growers who share similar values and growing practices which adds more variety to your harvest box and supports other small farms.

What’s the difference between a full and half season box?

The Half-Season harvest boxes are the same size, but available for half the amount of weeks of the Full-Season program. Dates are spread out and can be flexible.

The Full Season program gives you harvest boxes 10 out of the 13 weeks in each season. This gives you more flexibility in your schedule for things like vacations, taking a break from cooking, or supporting your other favourite local farms.

Here’s a breakdown in a handy chart for the 2025 season:

Full SeasonHalf Season
Spring8 boxes, 8 weeks (pick up weekly)4 Boxes, 8 weeks (pick up every second week)
Summer10 boxes, 13 weeks (dates TBA)5 Boxes, 10 weeks (pick up approx every second week)
Fall-Winter10 boxes, 13 weeks (dates tba)5 Boxes, 10 weeks (pick up approx.every second week)

How does the harvest box program work?

Harvest boxes start as early as we can fill up a box! Typically they start up at the beginning of may and end at Christmas.

When we are lucky, individual boxes are available in April and through January. We will let you know if that’s available this year.

How Much Food Are We Talking Here?

Harvest boxes are large compared to most other CSA/ harvest box programs. The Full Season harvest box programs are great for a family, hungry couple (especially if you’re vegan or vegetarian), or if you want to share with friends or family.

What if I want to cancel my subscription?

Once you pay your subscription fee, you are locked in for the season. Why? When you join our CSA, your subscription helps us plan for the entire growing season. Farmers rely on these upfront payments to get growing long before the first harvest. By committing to a share, you’re not just buying produce—you’re investing in a local farm and the family behind it. That’s why all subscriptions are non-refundable once the season begins. Your support helps make the season possible!
